Who is Howard Woods???
Mr. Howard Woods retired from teaching band and academics in 2007 after 47 years. His music experiences include 2 years in the 25th Infantry Band in Korea and Hawaii. He completed a BS degree in Music Education at Indiana State Teachers College in 1958. After gradutation he taught at Laupahoehoe School in Hawaii where he established band and choir programs. In l962 he completed a MA in Christian Education at Bob Jones University. After establishing a band program at Pensacola Christian School he moved to Santa Rosa Christian School in nearby Milton, Florida in l963. There he spent 27 years developing band and choir programs. He was also Minister of Music for Grace Bible Church, Dr. Dayton Hobbs, Pastor, and directed the choir for Aunt Carolyn Hobbs' Children's Bible Club Radio Ministry. From 1990 to 1999 he served as Band Director and instrumental instructor at Faith Baptist School in Longmont, CO. In 1999 he returned to Milton, Florida where he continued teaching full and part time until 2007. Howard & Norma Woods still reside in Milton where they continue to serve as needed. They have two sons who are Christian School teachers, and six grandchildren.
